The first trailer for Greg Mottola's action-comedy Keeping Up with the Joneses strongly supports the notion that Jon Hamm and Gal Gadot are actually superheroes in disguise as mere mortals. Highly attractive mortals, but mortals nonetheless. Now, Isla Fisher is no slouch in the Beautiful Humans category, so it's left to everyman Zach Galifianakis to bring in the believability factor. He plays an HR employee who's married to Fisher's character, and their quiet suburban lives are thrown into chaos when a new, mysterious couple moves in across the street.

For a first glimpse at the level of action and comedy in this film, the trailer was a little underwhelming. It lacks the charm and personality of Mottola's other works like Superbad and Adventureland, but perhaps that's more a fault of the marketing and not indicative of the final film. With this many funny and talented people both on the screen and behind the camera, I expected a few more laughs out of what should be an easy premise to mine.
