Nicholas Hoult has gone from About a Boy to War Boy, playing a zombie, a mutant superhero, and a giant slayer in his young career. Now, he stars as Steven Stelfox, an A&R (Artists & Repertoire) man tasked with finding the next big musical megahit in Britain in the final days of the 20th century. As you might expect from the title, Kill Your Friends takes place in the cutthroat world of artistic acquisitions, which Stelfox takes to the extreme. Owen Harris directs the adaptation of John Niven's 2008 novel that centers on a record company's talent scout caught up in the gratuitous world of sex, drugs, and pop rock superstars. As this first NSFW trailer shows, Stelfox is steeped in the vices of his own success and looks to be in danger of becoming Britain's version of an American Psycho.

Kill Your Friends is Hoult's next picture, followed by Drake Doremus' sci-fi drama Equals, and writer-director Eran Creevy's action-thriller Collide, before reprising his role as Beast in Bryan Singer's X-Men: ApocalypseKill Your Friends also stars Ed SkreinJames CordenRosanna ArquetteTom Riley, and Georgia King, and opens in the U.K. on November 6th after playing at Toronto International Film Festival. Currently there's no U.S. theater release date, but that may change after TIFF.
