‘Kingsman 2’: Vinnie Jones Joins ‘The Golden Circle,’ Shares Photos From the Set

     June 29, 2016

Vinnie Jones has two connections to the X-Men franchise, the first being the fact that he played Juggernaut in The Last Stand. The second is his relationship with Matthew Vaughn, director of First Class. Jones, a former soccer player, made his acting debut in Vaughn’s 1998 film Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and they re-teamed later on 2000’s Snatch, which Vaughn produced. Cut to now and the duo are back in action together for the Kingsman sequel, subtitled The Golden Circle.

In his return to Twitter, Jones posted a pair of videos from the set of the film holding up the day’s newspapers to show fans he’s telling the truth. He later posted photos of himself in costume and posing next to Vaughn, who returns as director, and his new co-star Julianne Moore, playing the villain. It’s unclear who exactly Jones is playing, though the England flag on his shoes suggests he could be a Kingsman, or perhaps he’s one of the baddies, given his photo with Moore.

In The Golden Circle, the Kingsmen encounter their American equivalents. Also featured among the cast in the sequel are the returning Colin Firth, Mark Strong, and Edward Holcroft, as well as newcomers Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges, Halle Berry, Pedro Pascal, and music icon Elton John.

Jones recently portrayed DC Comics villain Danny “Brick” Brickwell on The CW’s Arrow in a few different episodes. The Golden Circle is one of a few projects the actor has coming down the pipeline, including The Magnificent Seven.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle is scheduled to debut in theaters on June 16, 2017. See Jones’ videos and photos from the set below.
