I genuinely cannot remember the last time I was as excited for a new TV show as I am The Last Man on Earth. Created by Will Forte and executive produced by Forte, Phil Lord & Chris Miller (The LEGO Movie, 21/22 Jump StreetClone High), the comedy series revolves around a guy who may or may not be the literal last man on Earth. The trailers thus far have been cryptic with regards to the actual emptiness of the world, and I’m just fine with that. Not only do I want to be surprised by how the show unfolds, the footage of Forte doing whatever the hell he wants in a completely empty Los Angeles is reason enough to tune in week after week.

A couple of new unaired Last Man on Earth teasers have now arrived that I think at least one of them proves that Forte’s character is, in fact, a genius. In the short clip, he decides to cool off in a kiddie pool. But instead of filling it with water, Forte turns the thing into a giant alcoholic beverage. Practical and fun!

Watch the new teasers below (via Forte) and join me in checking out the first two episodes of the show (directed by Lord and Miller) on March 1st at 9pm ET/PT on Fox.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Last Man on Earth:

The year is 2020, and after a deadly virus has swept the planet, only one man is left on earth: PHIL MILLER (Forte). He used to be just an average guy who loved his family and hated his job. Now, in his RV, Phil searches the country for other survivors. He has traveled to every city, every town and every outpost in the United States, Mexico and Canada, and has found no one. As he returns to his hometown of Tucson, Phil comes to the painful realization that he is almost certainly the last living being on the face of the earth. All he wants is for someone – anyone – to find him in Tucson – preferably a woman.

Be careful what you wish for, Phil...
