Universal Pictures has released a new Legend trailer along with a new poster and images. Tom Hardy plays the dual roles of real-life twins Ronnie and Reggie Kray, who became major players in the 1960s London crime scene.

Hardy is one of the best actors working today, and he continues to challenge himself with interesting roles. Locke stuck him inside of a car for the entire movie; Mad Max: Fury Road gave him only a handful of lines; and now he’s going to have to dual roles. Obviously, he’s not the first actor to do this, but it looks like he’s going to give vastly different performances in Legend that still have nuances for each character. On top of that, it looks like an interesting story, so hopefully this all comes together into an exciting crime thriller.

Check out the Legend trailer below along with the poster and images. The film opens October 2nd, and also stars Emily Browning, David Thewlis, Christopher Eccleston, Chazz Palminteri, Tara Fitzgerald, and Taron Egerton.

Here’s the official synopsis:

From Academy Award® winner Brian Helgeland (L.A. Confidential, Mystic River) comes the true story of the rise and fall of London’s most notorious gangsters, Reggie and Ron Kray, both portrayed by Tom Hardy in an amazing double performance. Legend is a classic crime thriller taking us into the secret history of the 1960s and the extraordinary events that secured the infamy of the Kray twins.
