The CW’s Legends of Tomorrow is no Justice League, but it might as well be. The Atom, Captain Cold, Heatwave, Firestorm, White Canary, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, and Rip Hunter leap, fly, and drop-kick into action in a batch of new character posters.
Our latest looks at the new DC superhero series from the Arrow–The Flash universe are brought to you by IGN, Variety, ComicBook.com, Access Hollywood, EW, TV Line, ET, and TV Insider. The only folks missing are Stephen Amell’s Green Arrow, Grant Gustin’s The Flash, and Casper Crump’s Vandal Savage. Though, the first two have their own standalone series, and the latter villain could be getting his own poster debut down the road. In the meantime, we bask in the glory of this totally not Justice League team of heroes and villains.
The latest two-episode crossover event between Arrow and The Flash set up the events to come in Legends of Tomorrow. Vandal Savage, an immortal and tyrannical villain, is using time travel to destroy the world. Hunter recruits an assemblage of extraordinary talent to combat this global threat.
While we’ve seen footage of Amell and Gustin in this latest spinoff series, the story focuses on these characters from Brandon Routh, Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Victor Garber, Franz Drameh, Caity Lotz, Falk Hentschel, Ciara Renee, and Arthur Darvill. The executive producer team is made up by showrunner Phil Klemmer, Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, Marc Guggenheim, Sarah Schechter, and Chris Fedak.
What’s exciting about Legends of Tomorrow are the familiar names behind the spinoff who made Arrow and The Flash great. Then you factor in Joe Dante, who directed an episode titled “Night of the Hawk.” All signs are pointing to this being another slam dunk for DC on TV, though it’s super easy to get ahead of oneself amid all this hype.
Legends of Tomorrow kicks off on Thursday, January 21st at 8 p.m. ET. Check out all the posters below.
