I'm not against a movie based on Lego, especially if it's being helmed by the guys who directed the wonderful Cloudy with a Chance of MeatballsHeat Vision reports that Phil Lord and Chris Miller are in final negotiations to write and direct the Lego movie.  HV also says, "The plot is being kept under wraps, but it will be an adventure in the Lego world mixing live action and animation."  Warner Bros. and Lego weren't sure which way they wanted to go and Lord and Miller were able to sell both companies on a pitch that included both.

Lord and Miller may have had a strong presentation for their take on a Lego movie, but the $243 million worldwide Cloudy grabbed at the box office coupled with strong critical praise that film received also factored into WB and Lego's decision.  The directors are currently working on a big-screen adaptation of the TV series 21 Jump Street starring Jonah Hill.  The plan is to follow that up with the Lego movie.
