In lieu of a trailer, the marketing campaign for Logan right now is powering itself through social media. 20th Century Fox has taken to Instagram and Twitter to tease hints about its upcoming superhero film, a film that promises to be incredibly different than anything we’ve seen in the genre before. Aside from the R-rating, Logan looks like it will firmly embody the aesthetic of a post-apocalyptic western and eschew the bombast of the typical superhero movie.

Director James Mangold and star Hugh Jackman have tweeted out some more tantalizing clues about the upcoming finale for the popular mutant. Mangold tweeted an image of some storyboards from artist Gabriel Hardman and Jackman released a couple of black-and-white behind the scenes photos. One shows a smelting plant, and the other one features a restroom where someone has scrawled, “Where are all the mutants?”

This paints Logan into an interesting future. We know that the film will feature a Professor X (Patrick Stewart) who’s sickly and in the throes of dementia, and it appears mutantkind isn’t much better off. While Logan may have helped to avert the apocalypse shown in X-Men: Days of Future Past, it appears that the sunny present he arrived in has disappeared along with most of his fellow mutants. For his part, his powers seem to be disappearing (A bit of a retread from The Wolverine where Mangold’s solution to imperiling his regenerating protagonist is to take away his mutant powers), and he appears to be part of a dying breed. Cheerful!

Check out the tweets below. Logan opens March 3, 2017 and also stars Boyd Holbrook, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Stephen Merchant, and Richard E. Grant.
