Following an early glimpse of footage earlier today, 20th Century Fox has unveiled the first trailer for Love and Other Drugs, the romantic dramedy led by Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway.  Hathaway plays an "alluring free spirit" who falls for Gyllenhaal, a charming pharmaceutical sales rep.  The leads are joined by Oliver Platt, Hank Azaria, Josh Gad, and Gabriel Macht, with Edward Zwick (Defiance) directing.  Check out the trailer after the jump.

Here's the official synopsis:

Hathaway portrays Maggie, an alluring free spirit who won’t let anyone - or anything - tie her down. But she meets her match in Jamie (Gyllenhaal), whose relentless and nearly infallible charm serve him well with the ladies and in the cutthroat world of pharmaceutical sales. Maggie and Jamie’s evolving relationship takes them both by surprise, as they find themselves under the influence of the ultimate drug: love.

The trailer didn't really strike a chord with me, save for the fact that the cloth from which it's cut seems more Up in the Air than, say, The Bounty Hunter.  Plus, the writing/producing team of Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz have forever earned a long leash from me thanks to their association to My So-Called Life.  I'm hoping that the marketing department simply struggled to cut a good trailer from quality source material.

Love and Other Drugs opens on November 24th.  Click over to Apple for HD.
