Luc Besson hasn't directed a live-action film since 2005's Angel-A [Update: I've been informed that The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec was his last live-action film].  However, he has recently been shopping around a sci-fi prison drama called The Lock Out and the revenge thriller Colombiana starring Zoe Saldana.  But at this point, he's only producing those films. Today, Heat Vision reports that the director is currently shopping around an untitled romance script he co-wrote with David Marconi (Live Free or Die Hard).  Heat Vision also reveals that Besson wants to begin shooting at the end of September and is currently casting.  This film would also be Besson's first English-language film since 1999's Joan of Arc.

The French director has recently worked more on the writing and producing side of the business.  He co-wrote and produced the 2008 sleeper hit Taken and is currently co-writing and producing a sequel.  He's also developing a new TV series based on his 1990 film La Femme Nikita for the CW , even though it was previously adapted for TV back in 1997.
