The CinemaCon convention for theater owners in Las Vegas this week has been host to previews from a vast amount of upcoming films, but one of the big surprises was director Luc Besson’s (The Fifth Element) new sci-fi action thriller Lucy.  The film stars Scarlett Johansson as a reluctant drug mule who is transformed into an incredible fighter capable of clairvoyance, telekinesis, and an ability to disregard pain and emotion when one of the designer drugs enters her system.  The first footage drew high praise from those in attendance—including Collider’s own Steven Weintraub—and now the first image of Johansson in character has been unveiled.  The actress looks quite lethal with gun in hand, and I’m eager to see more from the film.  Luckily we don’t have to wait long, as the first trailer is scheduled to debut on April 2nd.  Check back here on Collider then to see Johansson in action.
