Warner Bros. has released a new Mad Max: Fury Road TV spot, and I continue to be ridiculously excited to see this film.

The movie stars Tom Hardy as Mad Max, who joins up with Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron) as they flee across the post-apocalyptic wasteland from a gang of ruthless warlords.

Watching this TV spot, I’m wondering what’s the ratio of practical shots to CGI. There’s plenty of color correction (the explosions in particular really pop), but everything—from the stunts to the destruction—looks so tactile and immediate. Along with its R-rating, the new Mad Max has definitely carved out a distinct space in the blockbuster season.

Check out the new TV spot below. The film will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival and opens in 3D on May 15th, and also stars Nicholas HoultRiley KeoughZoe Kravitz, Courtney EatonRosie Huntington-WhiteleyHugh Keays-ByrneNathan Jones, and Abbey Lee Kershaw.

Here’s the official synopsis for Mad Max: Fury Road:

Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone.  Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa.  They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken.  Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.
