As soon as I saw Mad Max: Fury Road in the theater, I knew it was destined to be one of those films I end up watching again and again just to soak all of it in. It was so frenetic, adrenaline-pumping, and seemingly on the verge of going completely off the rails at any moment that it's a miracle George Miller, cinematographer John Seale, and editor Margaret Sixel were able to keep it together at all. A great example of that precarious balance is shown in a new supercut of the film from editor Jorge Luengo Ruiz, who took the time to mash up most of Mad Max: Fury Road's push-in and pull-back shots.
With all of the chaos going on around Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, and Hugh Keays-Byrne, it was paramount that the camera occasionally focused in on the most vital person (or thing) in the frame. This supercut highlights all of those changes in focus, and it may leave you with a bit of tunnel vision. Also, as a spoiler alert, this mash-up does show scenes from pretty much the entire movie.
