The new Mad Max: Fury Road trailer pays homage to director George Miller, who (as the trailer states), "broke every rule" three decades ago with the first Mad Max films. Luckily for us … he's back! And this new trailer brings together the original story and the new footage in a very smart way.

While most sequels or reboots try to distance themselves from the past, the most thrilling part of this trailer is the sense of connection, and the anticipation for the next chapter. As it says, "all the power, all the chaos, all the madness, has led to now." BRING IT ALL ON.

Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone.  Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa.  They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken.  Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.
