Warner Bros. has released the first Magic Mike XXL clip online. Gregory Jacobs takes over the director’s chair from Steven Soderbergh this time around, as Channing Tatum’s titular character and his buddies hit the road for one last blow-out performance in Myrtle Beach.

If you’re hoping to see explosive dance moves or even some abs, you’re going to have to wait as Warner Bros. has decided to go with a clip featuring Tatum and Elizabeth Banks, who plays an old friend that also demands an MC show up for an upcoming performance. It’s an odd choice for a first clip since we don’t know the context of the scene and Tatum and Banks don’t have great chemistry together, or at least not within these few minutes. That being said, I’m still all in for this sequel since the trailer makes it look like unapologetic fun.

Picking up the story three years after Mike bowed out of the stripper life at the top of his game, “Magic Mike XXL” finds the remaining Kings of Tampa likewise ready to throw in the towel.  But they want to do it their way: burning down the house in one last blow-out performance in Myrtle Beach, and with legendary headliner Magic Mike sharing the spotlight with them.  On the road to their final show, with whistle stops in Jacksonville and Savannah to renew old acquaintances and make new friends, Mike and the guys learn some new moves and shake off the past in surprising ways.
