We were excited to hear that Mark Ruffalo will act out the larger, greener Hulk thanks to the wonders of motion capture.  That fact was thrown into some doubt at the hint of a mo-cap audition process, but Ruffalo reiterated last night at the Independent Spirit Awards that he is heavily involved with the process:

"[It looks] just like me.  We're going out of our way. First of all, I'll be playing it.  I'll be the first actor to actually do it in motion capture as the Hulk.  And so all the features are mine -- they're just really big."

Ruffalo also praises the script, which combines the comedy and pathos that fall "right in [writer/director] Joss Wheedon's wheelhouse."  He seems positively giddy about shooting The Avengers, which also stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, and Cobie Smulders.  Watch the video after the jump.

Marvel has amassed so many people who can do no wrong  -- Ruffalo, Whedon, Downey, Renner, Jackson, Smulders.  I don't know if The Avengers will be great, but it certainly won't be dull.  I love Ruffalo's energy here.
