The forthcoming comic-strip-to-film adaptation Marmaduke has been on our radar for awhile, but with the exception of some publicity stills, casting information, and a teaser trailer a couple months back, we haven't really known what to expect from the film.  Oh, who am I kidding: it's friggin' Marmaduke.  It looks exactly like you'd expect it to look.  For the trailer (and more commentary on the film), see me after the jump.

Before we go any further, let's all take a nice, long look at what we can expect to see when Marmaduke hits theaters in June:

Is it just me, or does Marmaduke look like a carbon-copy of Beverly Hills Chihuahua?  They've even got George Lopez in there!  And Owen Wilson-- who's voicing the titular dog and starred in this generation's Old Yeller, Marley and Me-- may be trying to pull off the hat-trick of having two back-to-back blockbusters that both feature extensive dog-related comedy.  Clearly, they're marketing this thing towards kids, so I suppose we should cut it some slack...but, come on, is there a single moment in this trailer that you didn't predict the moment you heard there was going to be a Marmaduke movie?

This is just the latest comic-strip-to-film adaptation that Hollywood's got coming, with Popeye (in 3D, no less) and The Smurfs following close behind it.  Apparently, now that everything's been remade at least once, we're going to have a new genre foisted upon us: Comic Strip Movies.  While there are worse things one can commit to film, I swear to God that someone will pay if a Family Circus movie ever hits theaters.

Marmaduke opens this June, so you have plenty of time to buy tickets and organize your Marmaduke viewing parties.
