NYCC rose in prestige in the past few years, and even though it’s still overshadowed in some respects by the one in San Diego, the Manhattan-based convention became the meeting ground for Marvel and Netflix’s series. Daredevil assembled its cast for the first time at the Javitz Center to reveal the first trailer, while the cast of Jessica Jones premiered the pilot episode. Now with this year’s installment, the cast of Iron Fist will come together to debut a special sneak peek of Netflix’s upcoming Marvel tale, along with the cast of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., who will debut an all new episode.

Get the details below, along with the latest non-committal quotes from Avengers: Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo on the possibility of an Avengers/Defenders team-up.

'Iron Fist' Sneak Peak Set for NYCC

According to a press release, Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb will moderate the panel on the Main Stage on Saturday, October 8th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. While exact talent present haven’t been confirmed, we can assume that it at least means series creator Scott Buck, Finn Jones (Danny Rand), Jessica Henwick (Colleen Wing), and perhaps even some new casting announcements. As for the footage, that could mean a variety of things, since all we have is a brief teaser trailer.

It’s nice to see Iron Fist at NYCC, since Luke Cage is noticeably absent from the lineup. Sure, it already had a panel at San Diego Comic-Con, but it’s now also the first Defenders series to skip NYCC. That’s probably because the original plan was to release one series a year in the fall, but now they have multiple seasons for Daredevil and Jessica Jones, as well as The Punisher spin-off — and those are just the ones that have been formally announced.

Elsewhere, Marvel is also bringing its new Legion FX series to the Hammerstein Ballroom on Sunday, October 9th from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. The announcement doesn’t anything about cast and crew members showing up — though expect it — but it does confirm “an exclusive sneak peek” will be screened.

Keeping with the NYCC beat, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will also be the subject of an upcoming Main Stage panel on Friday, October 7th from 7:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. Loeb will, again, moderate, while unspecified cast members and the debut of “an all-new episode” (likely the first episode of season 4).

We know this next run will be mostly about the introduction of the Robbie Reyes Ghost Rider character, as played by Gabriel Luna. Fans have already seen first looks at the character both in and out of Spirit of Vengeance mode, in addition to the first footage of the new season. But today, Marvel debuted a new poster for season 4 featuring the flaming skull of Ghost Rider looking over the cast.

‘The Defenders’ In ‘Infinity War’? Here’s the Latest

Yes, we’re all excited for Avengers: Infinity War. (And by all, I mean mostly Marvelites.) Yes, we all would love to see characters from Marvel TV pop over to the big screen when it happens. But we have to be realistic. We’ve seen movie characters cross over to TV, but not the other way around yet. Plus, actors like Chloe Bennett have made it painfully clear that the movie producers aren’t really concerned with what’s going on, while the writers behind Captain America: Civil War (and they returned to pen Infinity War) were baffled when asked about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. during the film’s production.

That said, Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo will neither confirm nor deny whether someone like The Defenders will appear in the film. In a new interview with The Toronto Sun, they kept things as cryptic as always.

We do consider everyone. We don’t want to get too specific about what’s going to happen with these movies. We want these movies to be a surprise for audiences.

That’s certainly enough to keep hope alive, but not enough by any means to make it official. However, Vin Diesel confirmed the Guardians of the Galaxy will make an appearance, and it was never in doubt that Josh Brolin would reprise Thanos for the affair. Elsewhere, the Russos seemingly confirmed Scarlet Witch will appear, and a THR report confirmed The Winter Soldier will emerge from cryogenic sleep.
