If you’re not excited about the Marvel’s Avengers video game, here’s a couple pieces of information to get you there. One: You play as all the damn Avengers! Two: It comes out freaking tomorrow, September 4! Excited now? Good. Now, here’s a new piece of information for free: Kate Bishop will be available in the game, and we’ve got a snappy, entertaining reveal trailer featuring the character.
If you’re unfamiliar with Bishop’s backstory, she is the first woman to take on the Hawkeye mantle, and is a fearsome, fierce archer whose barbs seem to be as sharp as her arrows. From what I can glean from this trailer, it looks like an origin-ish story of sorts, as she talks about how she’s cagey to give up details on Clint Barton, perhaps our most familiar Avenger (Jeremy Renner, unfortunately). From that point on, we see her blast enemies with her bow, rock a dope pair of shades, and even try out a Thor impression (pretty good!).
This is the latest super addition to the hotly anticipated title, which recently broke beta downloading records. Per the Hollywood Reporter, over 6 million players downloaded the beta, totalling 27 million hours of playtime, the most in PlayStation history. And that, my friends, is the last piece of hopefully exciting information I can give you. Now it’s on you to assemble yourself a copy by tomorrow.
Check out the first look at Kate Bishop in this new Marvel’s Avengers trailer below. The game drops tomorrow, September 4, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Stadia, and PC, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions dropping later in 2020. For more on the title, here’s our review of the beta.
