The sexiest fake weed dealer in the country may soon join the dead. Weeds star and uber-talented actress Mary-Louise Parker is in negotiations to join Robert Schwentke’s (Red) adaptation of the graphic novel R.I.P.D. The story centers on a cop who, after being killed in the line of duty, is recruited by a team of undead police officers to work for the “Rest In Piece Department” patrolling the underworld. He then sets out to find the man that murdered him. Ryan Reynolds is attached to play said cop, while Jeff Bridges will play Reynolds’ partner, a seasoned veteran of the “R.I.P.D.”Variety reports that Parker will play the woman who oversees the department. She’s tasked with explaining to Reynolds what happens when he shows up after being killed. The part was originally being eyed by Jodie Foster, but evidently she passed. While Parker is probably best known for her role on Weeds, I’ll always remember her insanely charming work as Amy Gardner on The West Wing. Kevin Bacon and Stephanie Szostak also star in R.I.P.D., which opens June 28, 2013.
