Adele just wants you to cry all the time. Even when you're supposed to be getting your weekly laughs in. After tearing up the internet (and your soul, probably) with her Xavier Dolan-directed, IMAX-shot music video for "Hello", the first single off her new album, Adele is set to appear as the musical guest on the November 21 episode of Saturday Night Live alongside host Matthew McConaughey.

This will mark McConaughey's first appearance on the SNL stage in more than a decade; aka the pre-McConaissance days when he was best known for headlining romantic comedies and generally being swoon-worthy. McConaughey's last hosting gig was back in 2003, and his return to 30 Rockefeller Center will give him the opportunity to break out the megawatt grin that made him famous after sticking to a series of dark and serious roles for the last 3 years.

McConaughey is continuing that trend with his upcoming slate of films. He will next been seen in Gus Van Sant's The Sea of Trees, an existential drama set in Japan's Suicide Forest. Next up, he'll appear alongside Edgar Ramirez in the Stephen Gaghan-directed Gold and Gugu Mbatha-Raw in Gary Ross' Civil War drama The Free State of Jones.

As for Adele, this marks the second appearance for the British songstress, who previously appeared as a musical guest in 2008 in support of her debut album, 19, which shot to the top spot on iTunes the day after her SNL performance. Since then she's skyrocketed to international fame and acclaim, winning 10 Grammys and an Oscar for her James Bond themesong "Skyfall". She returns to Saturday Night Live in promotion of her long-awaited, hugely-anticipated third album, 25, which drops November 20.
