20th Century Fox has released a new trailer for Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, the follow up to the hit YA adaptation The Maze Runner, which followed a group of teenage survivors trapped in a mysterious containment facility known as The Glade. Now that they’ve escaped, and learned the truth of their post-apocalyptic dystopia the gang must survive an entirely new challenge – the desolate, punishing landscape known as The Scorch.
Opening September 18th, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials stars Dylan O’Brien, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Kaya Scodelario, Giancarlo Esposito, Ki Hong Lee, Rosa Salazar and Jacob Lofland. Check out the new character posters and watch the new trailer below:
The Maze Runner franchise isn’t really my bag, but this trailer is actually pretty engaging. The scope is impressive, the action looks well constructed, and hey, could those be…adults that aren’t evil? It also looks like this film might answer a few questions – a quality lacking in the frustratingly irresolute first chapter. All in all, I’m a lot more intrigued by The Scorch Trials than I could have anticipated.
