Crunchyroll’s First Game ‘Memoria Freese (Dan-Memo)’ Revealed in the Official Trailer

Big news for fans of Crunchyroll and the hit anime series DanMachi: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? today: The first official trailer for the mobile game Memoria Freese (Dan-Memo) has finally arrived! The game, referred to as simply DanMemo, will follow an original storyline from the anime’s first season and from Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?: Sword Oratoria. In addition to that, it will include new and exclusive stories written by the series creator, Fujino Ōmori.

Available on both iOS and Android devices for the price of free–with in-app purchases–DanMemo is Crunchyroll Games’ first release, co-produced with Sumitomo and the massive Japan-based mobile gaming company, GREE. Crunchyroll has made great efforts to ensure the game remains as authentic as possible to the original anime. The North American release will feature the spectacular voice talents from the anime, including Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Inori Minase, and Saori Ōnishi, and all in-game dialogue is voiced just like the Japanese version, with English subtitles provided. On the Crunchyroll’s Twitch channel, viewers can catch exclusive content from the new game starting this Friday at 4pm PST for 24 hours straight. The Memoria Freese marathon will include:

  • Content from the game producer, which will introduce different facets of the RPG and play through portions of the game to showcase different features
  • Voice actors from the anime and game
  • Episodes 1- 5 will be shown of the original anime DanMachi
  • Content from Crunchyroll, including game reactions (though it will not feature any game play)

GREE has designed, developed, and will maintain both the game and copyright control, while Crunchyroll’s parent company Ellation and the Sumitomo Corporation will handle the distribution, localization, and marketing of the game under Ellation’s Crunchyroll Games brand. However, for Bell Cranel, fame and riches are secondary to what he wants to find the most: girls. He soon finds out though, that anything can happen in Dungeon, and winds up being the damsel in distress instead!
