Sony has released six new images from Men in Black 3.  Most of the new images feature the film's aliens, and makeup artist Rick Baker explained how these extraterrestrials differed from the ones in the previous movies:

''When I saw the '60s part, I said, 'I think we should do retro-looking aliens based on a lot of the aliens that were in films from the '50s and '60s that I love,''' says makeup artist Rick Baker. ''It was actually an idea I'd tried to push in the first two movies and they didn't go for it, but I figured with the time travel it would be perfect.''

The movie has had its share of script problems, but the aliens look terrific.  I'd expect no less from the seven-time Oscar winner.  Hit the jump to the check out the images.  Men in Black 3 opens in 3D on May 25th.

''We'd do an alien you could build a whole movie around, with all kinds of animatronics in its face, and then it would turn out to be in a quick pan,'' Baker says, laughing. ''It was like, 'Wow, we could have saved some time there!'''

Here's the official synopsis for Men in Black 3:

In Men in Black 3, Agents J (Will Smith) and K (Tommy Lee Jones) are back… in time. J has seen some inexplicable things in his 15 years with the Men in Black, but nothing, not even aliens, perplexes him as much as his wry, reticent partner. But when K’s life and the fate of the planet are put at stake, Agent J will have to travel back in time to put things right. J discovers that there are secrets to the universe that K never told him — secrets that will reveal themselves as he teams up with the young Agent K (Josh Brolin) to save his partner, the agency, and the future of humankind.
