Opening this weekend is director Steve Pink’s very funny remake of the comedy About Last Night.  This version stars Kevin HartRegina HallJoy Bryant, and Michael Ealy and centers on a couple who starts a romantic relationship despite their friends’ disapproval.  Loaded with very funny dialogue and great performances from all four leads, About Last Night was a nice surprise and I recommend checking it out.  For more on the film, watch the trailer.

At the Los Angeles press day, I landed an exclusive video interview with Michael Ealy and Joy Bryant.  They talked about contemporizing the film and using realistic dialogue, how much was scripted versus improvised, whether the script changed, who ruined the most takes from laughing, and more.  Hit the jump to watch.

Michael Ealy & Joy Bryant:

  • They talk about my t-shirt which says what would MacGyver do.
  • They talk about how they wanted to contemporize the film and use real dialogue.
  • Who ruined the most takes from laughing?
  • How much of their dialogue was scripted versus improvised?
  • Did the script change at all during production?
