Fresh off a swell Oscar night for Whiplash, actor Miles Teller is adding another promising project to his docket. The Wrap reports that Teller is attached to produce and star in Universal Pictures’ adaptation of the Josh Dean article The Life and Times of the Stopwatch Gang, which tells the story of a group of bank robbers who perpetrated crimes without ever having to fire their guns. Gangster Squad and Zombieland helmer Ruben Fleischer will direct, and Scott Stuber (Ted 2) will produce.

Teller has a fairly busy schedule ahead of him, as he most recently wrapped the boxing movie Bleed for This and is next set to shoot Todd Phillips’ crime pic The Arms and the Dudes with Jonah Hill and The Divergent Series: Allegiant Part 1, which starts production in May. He’ll next be seen onscreen in The Divergent Series: Insurgent, and then later this year makes his first foray into the superhero genre with Fantastic Four. It’s unclear when in his schedule Teller will get to Stopwatch Gang, as he’ll likely be due to shoot Fantastic Four 2 in early 2016.

As for Fleischer, he broke out big with Zombieland, and followed that up with 30 Minutes or Less and Gangster Squad. We most recently learned that he intends to finally direct Zombieland 2 in the near future, but it’s possible Stopwatch Gang will take priority; it's been a few years since Gangster Squad so it'd be nice to see Fleischer back behind the camera again. He and Teller already have a working relationship, as Fleischer produced the romantic comedy Two Night Stand, in which Teller starred opposite Analeigh Tipton.
