If you can’t wait for Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, you’lll have an opportunity to see five minutes of the film nearly a month early—and on the big screen, no less. Paramount Pictures announced today that a five-minute sneak peek of the fifth Mission: Impossible film will debut exclusively in front of North American IMAX screenings of Terminator Genisys, with screenings beginning at 7pm on June 30th.
Directed and co-written by Jack Reacher helmer Christopher McQuarrie, Rogue Nation finds Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt and his IMF team disbanded and out in the cold, as a new threat surfaces in the form of a network of special agents called the Syndicate. While the movie’s release was pushed up five months not so long ago, during Steve’s interview with Skydance Productions executives David Ellison and Dana Goldberg, they revealed that Rogue Nation’s first test screening scored even higher than Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. They also recounted how it was Cruise and McQuarrie who accepted the challenge of moving the release date up to July when Ellison and Goldberg were simply floating the idea as an impossible “What If?”
While Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation wasn’t shot natively in IMAX (on its original December release date, all the IMAX screens were taken up by Star Wars), it was DMR’d for the format, so it should be fun to get an early look at the pic on the giant screen in front of Terminator.
