Paramount Pictures has released the first Mission: Impossible 5 trailer for director Christopher McQuarrie’s (Jack Reacher) upcoming sequel. One of the first things you'll probably notice is that the title has changed to Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation and that the film seems to be centered around a syndicate of "anti-IMF" assailants trying to obliterate the central team. I love McQuarrie's work and thought Ghost Protocol was fantastic, so there's nothing here to diminish my excitement for this one. The action looks great and the characters we loved from the last installment are all back and getting a considerable amount of screen time. I also really like the fact that we're getting this much footage this early without a bunch of trailers for trailers or teasers for teasers. In just over one minute we're getting a lot more info, down to the plot, than you normally get in standard teasers.

Watch the first Mission: Impossible 5 trailer (or this first Rogue Nation trailer, however you want to slice it) below. The film stars Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Jeremy Renner, Rebecca Ferguson, Sean Harris, Simon McBurney, and Alec Baldwin. Mission: Impossible 5 opens in IMAX and traditional theaters on July 31st. There's no official synopsis at this time beyond the faint offering that this is "their most impossible mission yet", which judging by the plane shot at the end of the teaser seems to be accurate. Can't wait for this one.
