If you couldn't make it to this years Cannes Film Festival, you're in luck because the films are now coming to you!  One notable entry from the competition is writer-director Xavier Dolan's award-winning drama, Mommy.  The winner of the Jury Prize centers on a single mom and her mercurial son whose daily struggle to coexist is helped by the friendship of a strange new neighbor.  It's certainly not your run-of-the-mill schmaltzy family film as both mother and son have some major personal and mental health issues going on, so if hard-hitting dramas are more your speed, then put this one on your radar.

Starring Anne Dorval, Antoine-Olivier Pilon, Suzanne Clement, Alexandre Goyette, and Patrick Huard, the Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions presentation of Mommy lands in theaters January 2015.  Hit the jump to watch the trailer and check out the film's official synopsis and poster.
