The TV ratings for Monday, October 5th are in; here are some of the highlights:

  • At 8 p.m. on CBS, The Big Bang Theory dropped a tenth of a point to a 3.7 rating in the key 18-49 demographic, and 15.03 million viewers, winning its time slot.
  • That tenth that it dropped got picked up by Scorpion at 9 p.m., which won its hour with a 1.8 rating and 9.8 million viewers for the eye network.
  • On CBS’s comedy front, Life in Pieces stayed steady with last week’s 1.9 rating at 8:30 p.m. and 9.16 million viewers, but it’s only able to hold on to half of The Big Bang Theory’s audience, which isn’t great (even though its numbers are good anyway).

NBC’s The Voice at 8 p.m. stayed steady with a 3.2 rating (down a tenth) and 11.9 million viewers, while Blindspot also dropped down a mere tenth from last week with a 2.5 rating and 9.08 million viewers, winning its timeslot (and basically guaranteeing a full season pickup at this point). NBC won the night both in the ratings and with viewer numbers.
  • On Fox, Gotham dropped a tenth from last week to a 1.5 rating and 4.2 million viewers at 8 p.m., and has not provided much of a lead-in for the struggling Minority Report at 9 p.m., which seems destined for the grave given its 0.7 rating and 2.28 million viewers (yikes). Fox’s complicated history with sci-fi series continues.
  • CBS closed the night out with NCIS: Los Angeles at a 1.2 rating and 7.89 million viewers at 10 p.m., and was beaten slightly by ABC’s Castle with its 1.3 rating at 10 p.m., though it had 7.33 million viewers.
