The Monday TV ratings for May 18th are in; here are some of the highlights:

  • NBC's The Voice was up two tenths to a 2.6 rating in the key 18-49 demographic, and notched 11.05 million viewers, winning the 8 p.m. timeslot.
  • ABC's Dancing with the Stars stayed steady with last week's numbers, pulling a 2.2 and a strong 14.11 million viewers, helping ABC to win the night both in the ratings and with viewers overall.
  • The season premiere of The Bachelorette, with its new double-bachelorette format (for now, anyway), was the strongest premiere for the ABC series in several seasons. The dating show brought in a 2.1 rating and 7.24 million viewers.

Fox finished off the final episodes of The Following with a two-hour series finale, starting at 8 p.m. In that slot, the show brought in a 1.0 rating and 3.1 million viewers, but lost ground at 9 p.m., dropping to a series low 0.9 and 3.09 million viewers. Not exactly a fond farewell.
  • CBS's Stalker at 9 p.m. was also down to a series low 1.2 rating and 6.82 million viewers. Are people finally tired of seeing brutal murders stringing together poorly conceived plots? Dare to dream!
  • At 10 p.m., NCIS: LA on CBS was up a tenth to a 1.4 rating and 9.18 million viewers, while NBC's The Night Shift stayed steady at a 1.2 rating and 5.42 million viewers.
  • Also, a little cable update for those who are interested: Mad Men's series finale on AMC, Sunday night at 10 p.m., drew 3.3 million total viewers, 1.4 million of which were in the key demographic (like those reported above). Though it may seem small, those are Mad Men's best numbers ever. Let's celebrate with a Coke!
