We’re big fans of Mondo—the collectible boutique arm of the legendary Alamo Drafthouse—here at Collider. They commission and make available gorgeous works of art inspired by movies small and large, commercial and cult hits. This past weekend Mondo opened their first ever gallery in Austin, TX, right in the middle of the SXSW Film Festival. The gallery opening was a huge success, and I’m incredibly jealous as both Steve and Matt got a chance to attend and take a gander. For those of us not lucky enough to make the trip, Mondo has made available images of some of the prints they had on display for their inaugural sci-fi show. They include stunning works including Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, A Trip to the Moon, War of the Worlds and more.

Hit the jump to take a look at some of the prints on display.

Here’s Mondo’s press release, which includes the names of the artists responsible for each print:

MONDO OPENS ITS FIRST EVER GALLERY

After weeks of speculation the collectible art boutique

pulls back the curtain on its epic celebration of sci-fi

Austin, TX--- March 10, 2012 ---Mondo, the collectible art boutique arm of Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, today opened its doors to a new gallery space and unveiled a spectacular science fiction show with thirty eight pieces of original and screen-printed artwork. The Mondo Gallery is located at 4115 Guadalupe St. in Austin, TX

Recognized by movie fans and pop culture art enthusiasts across the world, Mondo has grown by leaps and bounds from its modest beginnings.  "We are so proud to unveil our first gallery space. The evolution of Mondo has taken us from being head quartered in a ticket booth at the original Alamo location to our own standalone headquarters. We will take advantage of the extra room by having themed art shows for film, television, comics and all things pop culture. The first show features over 30 artists that produced screen-printed posters as well as original works based on their love for the science fiction genre," said Mondo Creative Director Justin Ishmael.

"We could not be happier about the artwork we've assembled for our inaugural show. It has always been a dream of ours to have a space to hold exhibitions, but we never anticipated this level of work. We are incredibly proud of everyone involved," said Mondo's Mitch Putnam.

"We've made Austin pretty again" said Mondo's Rob Jones in his best Rita Moreno voice.

Stunning original works of art and screen prints were created for some of the most beloved and influential science fiction films, including Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn, Forbidden Planet, A Trip to the Moon, The Man Who Fell to Earth, The Fly and Flash Gordon.  The artists featured in the show include the following:
