Lionsgage has released a new Mortdecai trailer and poster, and I continue to be charmed by this film.  The film stars Johnny Depp as the roguish Charlie Mortdecai, an art dealer who finds himself in a race to recover a stolen painting rumored to contain the code to a lost bank account filled with Nazi gold.  This new trailer also fills us in on the supporting characters including Mortdecai's wife (Gwyneth Paltrow), handler (Ewan McGregor), Jock Strapp (Paul Bettany, and yes, the character name is a bit much), and a potential mistress (Olivia Munn).  I know Depp has gone from being an exciting actor to self-parody, but he looks like he's having a blast with the character, and hopefully that enthusiasm will carry over to the rest of the picture.

Hit the jump to check out the new Mortdecai trailer and poster.  The film opens January 23, 2015, and also stars Aubrey Plaza, Jeff Goldblum, and Oliver Platt.

Here’s the official synopsis for Mortdecai:

Juggling some angry Russians, the British Mi5, his impossibly leggy wife and an international terrorist, debonair art dealer and part time rogue Charlie Mortdecai (Depp) must traverse the globe armed only with his good looks and special charm in a race to recover a stolen painting rumored to contain the code to a lost bank account filled with Nazi gold.
