Disney has released a new TV spot for director James Bobin’s upcoming sequel Muppets Most Wanted, and as with the various spots for the first film, this one puts a comedic spin on a familiar type of advertising.  The target this time around is the plethora of awards TV spots that are currently playing in anticipation of the impending Oscar nominations and the new trend of using Tweets as quotes.  This Muppets spot pulls quotes from presumably fake Twitter accounts, and the results are pretty funny and accurate.  The promo also features some new footage from the pic, giving us brief glimpses at cameos by the likes of Tom Hiddleston and Zach Galifianakis.

Here’s the official synopsis for Muppets Most Wanted:

Disney’s “Muppets Most Wanted” takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, selling out grand theaters in some of Europe’s most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid, Dublin and London. But mayhem follows the Muppets overseas, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine—the World’s Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit the Frog—and his dastardly sidekick Dominic, aka Number Two, portrayed by Ricky Gervais. The film stars Tina Fey as Nadya, a feisty prison guard, and Ty Burrell as Interpol agent Jean Pierre Napoleon.
