Most switching of the guard turn overs from Netflix that go into effect each month put a lot of major works on the chopping block, but December 2015 seems to be a real bloodbath for a number of remarkable film. Even ignoring everything after the 1st of the month, Netflix will be cutting classics like The Hustler, featuring one of Paul Newman's greatest performances, and All About Eve, one of the best films about the theater ever made. December 1st will also see the expulsion of two Jim Henson joints - Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal - and most of the Omen franchise, as well as Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins, Joe Dante's The Burbs, Jonathan Demme's The Silence of the Lambs, and The Great Escape. You'll have a little longer to get around to Red Hook Summer, Spike Lee's challenging Brooklyn drama, and the intermittently riveting FX drama series Rescue Me, but don't sleep on any of these for too long, lest you miss out on a number of prime Netflix and Chill picks.
