Warner Bros. has released a large batch of high-resolution images from the upcoming Entourage movie, written and directed by series creator Doug Ellin. The film picks up where the series left off, with Ari (Jeremy Piven) now a successful studio head and Vince (Adrien Grenier) stretching his “talent” by making his feature directorial debut on a supernatural adaptation of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
Warner Bros. (and HBO) is no doubt hoping to mirror the success of Sex and the City, which made the leap to the big screen to the tune of $415 million worldwide—which is pretty darn great for an R-rated film. Its feature film sequel fared less well, but still did solid business, so the question now is whether the “boys” will turn out in droves for Entourage or if the show’s been off the air too long to elicit enthusiasm for a feature film continuation.
The movie thus far doesn’t really look to be anything other than an extended episode of the show, but maybe that’s the draw for fans. The originality of the series was gone long before it ended, and so the Entourage movie is more comfort food than a new, bold step in the story.
Regardless, take a look at over 30 new Entourage images below. The film opens June 3rd and also stars Kevin Connolly, Jerry Ferrara, Kevin Dillon, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Billy Bob Thornton, Haley Joel Osment, Rex Lee, Debi Mazar, Constance Zimmer, Emily Ratajkowski, and Ronda Rousey. And if you missed them, check out Steve's on-set interviews with Grenier, Connolly, and Dillon.
Here’s the official synopsis for Entourage:
Movie star Vincent Chase (Grenier), together with his boys, Eric (Connolly), Turtle (Ferrara) and Johnny (Dillon), are back…and back in business with super agent-turned-studio head Ari Gold (Piven). Some of their ambitions have changed, but the bond between them remains strong as they navigate the capricious and often cutthroat world of Hollywood.
