At long last, the first footage from director Darren Aronofsky’s Biblical epic Noah has landed online.  The film is, of course, an adaptation of the Bible’s Great Flood story, but with an Aronofsky twist.  Production on this one began back in 2011 and Aronofsky has been busy with a heavy amount of visual effects in the meantime, including creating all of the animals with CGI.  This first footage means a proper trailer should be on the way shortly, but it definitely teases a stylized take on Noah’s story and Russell Crowe seems a swell fit to play the titular character.  Reports have swirled that early test screenings have been “worrisome” as Aronofsky and Paramount are at odds over striking a balance between the director’s sensibilities and a wide audience appeal, but hopefully a happy medium can be struck in the next few months.

Hit the jump to watch the first footage from the film.  The pic also stars Emma Watson, Jennifer Connelly, Logan Lerman, Douglas Booth, Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins, Kevin Durand, Martin Csokas, and Mark Margolis.  Noah opens March 28, 2014. [Update: The first official UK poster has now also landed online along with two more short teases of footage.]
