About a month ago Michael Caine revealed that Daniel Radcliffe was set to play his son in Now You See Me 2 and now Lionsgate has confirmed it.  Radcliffe is locked to join Caine, Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman, Woody Harrelson and Dave Franco in the sequel to Louis Leterrier’s 2013 hit.  Now You See Me began its theatrical run at #2 behind Fast & Furious 6, but after its $29.4 million debut, the film went on to secure over $350 million worldwide, earning the second film.

Hit the jump to check out the very first official Now You See Me 2 synopsis and to find out who else is joining the cast alongside Radcliffe.

First off, here’s that official synopsis:

One year after outwitting the FBI and winning the public’s adulation with their mind-bending spectacles, the Four Horsemen resurface in NOW YOU SEE ME 2 only to find themselves face to face with a new enemy who enlists them to pull off their most dangerous heist yet.

The press release also reveals the names of the new characters, but doesn’t offer any details regarding how they’ll fit into the narrative.  Radcliffe will play Walter and Jay Chou (The Green Hornet) is also on board as Li.  The official casting news also confirms Lizzy Caplan’s involvement.  Her character is Lula and if previous reports are true, Lula is the female lead who essentially replaces Isla Fisher’s character.

Jon M. Chu is directing with a script from Pete Chiarelli (The Proposal) and Now You See Me scribe Ed Solomon.
