Here's the latest casting news to come across the wire:

  • Olivia Wilde is set to star in director Reed Morano's psychological thriller Meadowland, penned by Chris Rossi.
  • January Jones will star in the supernatural thriller The Shuddering, directed by George Ratliff from a David Coggeshall script.
  • Michiel Huisman will star opposite Blake Lively in The Age of Adaline, director Lee Toland Krieger's romantic drama also starring Harrison Ford and Ellen Burstyn.

First up is news from Deadline that has Wilde starring in Meadowland as "a mom whose son disappears, a jolt that puts her on an unexpected and dangerous path toward acceptance as she seeks out a relationship with a neglected boy and watches it take an unexpected turn."  Wilde will also act as a producer on Morano's directorial debut, which starts production this July in New York.

Heat Vision reports that Jones will star in The Shuddering, which follows "a woman (Jones) who returns to the town where she first began to experience strange visions. Determined to get to the bottom of it, she unravels a mystery that goes back farther than she could imagine."  Once Jones wraps her role in the final season of AMC's Mad Men, she'll start production on The Shuddering this summer.

Huisman joins Blake Lively, Harrison Ford and Ellen Burstyn in Romantic Drama for Lionsgate, Sidney Kimmel Entertainment and Lakeshore Entertainment

SANTA MONICA and LOS ANGELES, CA (February 11, 2014) – Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF), Sidney Kimmel Entertainment and Lakeshore Entertainment have cast Michiel Huisman to play Blake Lively’s love interest in the upcoming romantic drama THE AGE OF ADALINE.  Previously announced stars include Academy Award®-nominated Harrison Ford and Academy Award-winner Ellen Burstyn.  Principal photography will begin in March with Lionsgate set to release the film in the US.

Huisman recently appeared in WORLD WAR Z and HBO's "Treme", and will next be seen in HBO's "Game of Thrones", BBC's "Orphan Black"  and  in Fox Searchlight Picture's WILD, opposite Reese Witherspoon.  Huisman is represented by ICM Partners, Authentic and lawyer Frank Stewart.

THE AGE OF ADALINE follows the miraculous life of 29-year old Adaline, who stops aging after recovering from a near-fatal accident.  Over the course of the 20th century she embarks on an epic, but isolated worldwide journey, keeping her secret, until she meets a man who forever alters her life.

The original screenplay was written by J. Mills Goodloe and Salvador Paskowitz, with revisions by Allison Burnett.  THE AGE OF ADALINE will be produced by Sidney Kimmel, Tom Rosenberg, and Gary Lucchesi.  Jim Tauber and Eric Reid will executive produce.
