Having Oprah Winfrey in your corner certainly helps with whatever project you're intending to market, whether it's the next bestselling novel, or a long-gestating Martin Luther King, Jr. biopic.  Today's news focuses on the latter, as Winfrey has signed on to produce Selma for Paramount.  Her involvement comes after taking a liking to the script rewrite turned in by writer-director Ana DuVernay last year.  The project is being fast-tracked, so as soon as Paramount seals the deal on domestic distribution, production is expected to start right away.
