Because of David Fincher and a top-notch cast, House of Cards received plenty of attention before it was even released, and it managed to mostly live up to the hype.  But Netflix had a sleeper hit last year with their original series Orange Is the New Black.  Perhaps it was because I was never a fan of creator Jenji Kohan’s previous series, Weeds, but I was surprised by the enthusiastic buzz OITNB received, and it became an unexpected binge watch for me.  Now I’m excited for season two, and the first images from the new season have gone online.  The new images highlight both the dramatic side with the aftermath of Piper’s violent confrontation as well as the comic aspects with the inmates dressed up for a mock job fair.

Hit the jump to check out the images.  All 13 episodes of Orange Is the New Black will be released on Netflix on June 6th.

Here's the brief synopsis and full cast for season 2:

The highly-anticipated second season of Netflix’s ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK gives us a closer look at our favorite, darkly funny prisoners; their shifting alliances within Litchfield and conflicts we never saw coming. The series' unforgettable ensemble includes Taylor Schilling, Jason Biggs, Laura Prepon, Kate Mulgrew, Danielle Brooks, Uzo Aduba, Natasha Lyonne, Taryn Manning, Laverne Cox, Michael Harney, Samira Wiley, Yael Stone and more. Lorraine Toussaint joins the cast in season two as Yvonne "Vee" Parker.
