We’re getting close, my dears, to the Season 4 premiere of Orphan Black, and BBC America has dutifully released some new images of the upcoming season to whet our appetites. Despite Season 3 seemingly ending in a positive place for Tatiana Maslany‘s many characters, these images reveal some dark portends … like Sarah getting her teeth inspected on the floor of a laundromat, Helena looking frightened during her sonogram (and worse, having to deal with Donnie), and most importantly, Alison on a wine binge flailing her gun around.
There’s only a brief glimpse of Cosima, and a tantalizing tease of Felix (Jordan Gavaris) and a mystery man, but what it all means remains a mystery for now. But, it seems like the show will be continuing to explore more about the origins of the clone program, which has of course been its main drive now for several seasons. Hopefully it can keep up the thriller aspects without the story getting too unintelligibly twisted (like Season 3), though adding in some new character this year should keep things fresh. But honestly I would just like to see the clones hanging out and having dance parties for episodes at a time.
Orphan Black also stars Kevin Hanchard, Évelyne Brochu, Kristian Bruun, and Maria Doyle Kennedy. If you missed the trailer, you can check it out here, as well as the official synopsis for the season below:
Season 4 of the drama will see leader-of-the-pack, Sarah, reluctantly return home from her Icelandic hideout to track down an elusive and mysterious ally tied to the clone who started it all — Beth Childs. Sarah will follow Beth’s footsteps into a dangerous relationship with a potent new enemy, heading in a horrifying new direction. Under constant pressure to protect the sisterhood and keep everyone safe, Sarah’s old habits begin to resurface. As the close-knit sisters are pulled in disparate directions, Sarah finds herself estranged from the loving relationships that changed her for the better.
Orphan Black Season 4 premieres Thursday, April 14th on BBC America.
