I like to take messages away from trailers.  If it's "Terminator Salvation", it's that robots will rise up and destroy us.  If it's "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince", it's that dark wizards will rise up and destroy us.  And if it's this new trailer for "Orphan", the message is that adopted children will rise up and destroy us.  Do not adopt orphans.  They're orphans for a reason and if God wanted them to have parents, he wouldn't have killed their parents in the first place.*

"Orphan" is in the spooky-child genre of horror and I find that it's a genre that you either love or hate.  Personally, I can't be scared of something I can dropkick.  The trailer looks like a remake of "The Bad Seed" except with adoption and since we've pinpointed "adoption" as the problem, we can make sure to avoid it just like we do machines and wizards.
