The Oscars are only days away, and now, the awards ceremony's pre-show has found its hosts. Producers Will Packer and Shayla Cowan have announced that Vanessa Hudgens, Terrence J, and Brandon Maxwell are set to host the 90-minute pre-show, titled the Oscars Red Carpet Show.

The Academy released a statement talking about the pre-show saying, “The 90-minute special will highlight Oscar nominees, performers and presenters and give fans around the world the ultimate insiders’ sneak peek at Hollywood’s biggest night.” On top of that, The Academy also announced that the show will feature a special appearance from DJ M.O.S. The pre-show is executive produced by David Chamberlin and Michael Antinoro with the previously mentioned Packer and Cowan serving as producers.

It is very fitting that Hudgens would be one of the hosts for this show, since she starred in last year's musical hit Tick, Tick…Boom!. That film is up for two Oscars ,including Best Actor for Andrew Garfield's fantastic performance, and Best Film Editing. Beyond just that film, Hudgens has made quite a career for herself over the past decade, starring in films like the High School Musical trilogy, The Princess Switch trilogy, Sucker Punch, Spring Breakers, and Asking For It. Terrence J is also a good choice to host, as he has experience hosting many reality shows, like Are You The One?. He also has red carpet experience, as he was an anchor for E! News from 2012 to 2015. Lastly, Maxwell is a great choice as he is a fashion designer. The most exciting thing about every red carpet is seeing all the fashion, so having an expert in that department is not a bad thing.

This announcement is coming off other Oscar news, like Beyoncé, Billie Eilish and Finneas, Reba McEntire, and Sebastián Yatra all performing their nominated hits for Best Original Song at this year’s show. Van Morgan will sadly not be preforming due to his tour schedule. However, the Oscar nominated film Encanto will have its mega hit single “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” performed live at the show for the very first time.

It is going to be exciting to see how Hudgens, Terrence J, and Maxwell will bounce off one another. The pre-show always brings its own kind of unique energy, so hopefully it will be a great start to a memorable night. The Oscars Red Carpet Show will air on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at 3:30 PM P.T/6:30 PM E.T before The Oscars start at 5 PM P.T/8 PM E.T.
