The first trailer for WGN America's new series Outsiders is now available for your viewing pleasure. The Sony Pictures Television and Tribune Studios production written and created by award-winning playwright Peter Mattei explores the struggle between the Farrell Clan - the rugged mountain-dwellers who have called Shay Mountain their home for over 200 years - and anyone from the town below who would dare to challenge them and their way of life. As the short trailer reveals, this conflict quickly comes to a head in an impending collision between the law and the lawless, one that looks like the filmmakers picked up Mad Max and dropped him on a mountaintop (and I mean that in the best possible way).

Here's a look at the show's cast and their characters, courtesy of WGN America: David Morse stars as Big Foster, a gruff and powerful heir to leadership; Joe Anderson is Asa, a member of the Farrell clan looking to rejoin the family after a stint with the outside world; Thomas M. Wright plays Sheriff Wade Houghton, a cop who has a history with the Farrells, and grapples with a few troubles of his own; Ryan Hurst as Lil Foster, a massive mountain man and son of Big Foster; Gillian Alexy as G'Winveer, a survivor and Asa’s confidante; Kyle Gallner as Hasil, an intuitive soul who feels rejected by the group; Christina Jackson as Sally-Ann, a beautiful girl from a mining town who is fascinated by the Farrells and Hasil in particular; Francie Swift as Haylie, a cunning, all-American community relations manager with the encroaching coal company; and Phyllis Somerville as Lady Ray, the regal yet tough leader of the Farrell clan.
