Warner Bros. has released a new Pan trailer for director Joe Wright’s (Hanna, Pride & Prejudice) upcoming re-imagining of the classic J.M. Barrie story. The film takes an origin approach to Peter Pan, as we follow newcomer Levi Miller and other young wartime orphans being kidnapped by the men of the dreaded pirate Blackbeard (Hugh Jackman), thus beginning a series of adventures in Neverland that shape the boy into the hero known to generations as Peter Pan.

Given the format of the debut, this is a brief albeit promising new look at the film (if a longer version shows up in a more traditional format, we'll update accordingly). I'm a huge fan of Wright's work so he's a big draw here, and the sets and costumes look appropriately sublime. Even somewhat crazy Hugh Jackman seems like fun, and I'm looking forward to traveling to Neverland by way of Joe Wright this summer, if only to experience something different from the traditional blockbuster fare.
