I’m incredibly sad that Parks and Recreation comes to an end next week, and last night’s brilliant episode “The Johnny Karate Super Awesome Musical Explosion Show” was indicative of why I’m going to miss this sitcom so dearly. The entire episode was a show within a show, as we were privy to Andy’s (Chris Pratt) final episode of his local childrens TV series (aptly named "The Johnny Karate Super Awesome Musical Explosion Show"), which is as hilarious as it is insane. In keeping with the “show-within-a-show” conceit, Parks and Rec bookended each commercial break with a fake commercial that would be running with Andy's program in Pawnee, Indiana, and they were glorious.

All four fake commercials are online now, and it’s impossible for me to pick a favorite. Ron Swanson’s (Nick Offerman) to-the-point ad for his building company is perfect, the Verizon Chipotle Exxon ad sadly prophetic, and then of course the Paunch Burger commercial is everything I imagined a Paunch Burger commercial would be.

So as you begin to mourn one of the best shows in the history of television, enjoy some of the comedic brilliance of last night’s episode below. The one-hour series finale of Parks and Recreation airs on NBC Tuesday, February 28th at a new time, 10pm ET, and the entire cast will reunite later that evening on Late Night with Seth Meyers.
