Both Mitch Glazer's (writer The Recruit) Passion Play and Mike Mills' (Thumbsucker) Beginners have been picked up in the aftermath of the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival.  Starring Mickey Rourke and Megan Fox, Passion Play will be distributed by Image Entertainment in the U.S. and Entertainment One in Canada as part of a seven figure-deal.  Focus Features picked up the worldwide rights to Beginners (save for Canada, France, Australia, Scandinavia, and Benelux) in a deal that guarantees approximately $2 million in P & A commitment on Focus' behalf.  Beginners stars Ewan McGregor and Christopher Plummer.

Passion Play tells the story of a jazz trumpeter (Rourke) who finds himself in love with a performer who has wings (Fox).  Per THR, Beginners "is an autobiographical tale set in Los Angeles about a man (McGregor) coming to terms with his father (Plummer) after his dad comes out of the closet at 75 only to learn he is dying of cancer."
