Alfred Pennyworth meets Thomas Wayne and ... the game is afoot! Epix has revealed the premiere date, a second teaser trailer, and new images for its upcoming drama series Pennyworth, which will give Bruce Wayne’s butler his own origin story. The 10-episode hourlong series will pick up with Alfred (Jack Bannon, The Imitation Game), fresh out of the British SAS, forming his own security agency in 1960s London — an agency that catches the attention of a young American billionaire named Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge, Fleabag).

The series comes from Gotham alumni Bruno Heller (serving as an EP and writer) and Danny Cannon (also executive producing as well as directing). This teaser trailer is a little more restrained than the first -- which revealed a sexy Queen Elizabeth -- but it still looks extremely mod and stylish, and of course finally gives Alfred the centerstage … although the Wayne family still looks to be heavily represented (I don't mind, because hellooooo Thomas Wayne!) 

In addition to Bannon and Aldridge, the series’ cast includes UK recording artist Paloma Faith, Jason Flemyng (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), Ryan Fletcher (Outlander), Hainsley Lloyd Bennett (Eastenders), Emma Paetz (Gentleman Jack) and Polly Walker (The Mentalist, Rome).

The 10-episode, hour-long drama series from Warner Horizon Scripted Television is based on DC characters created by Bob Kane with Bill Finger. It follows Bruce Wayne’s legendary butler, Alfred Pennyworth (Jack Bannon), a former British SAS soldier in his 20s, who forms a security company and goes to work with a young billionaire Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge), who’s not yet Bruce’s father, in 1960s London.
