The first trailer for Personal Shopper has landed online just following the film’s world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. Kristen Stewart leads the thriller in a reunion with her Clouds of Sils Maria director Olivier Assayas, for which she won the prestigious Cesar Award for Best Actress. In Personal Shopper, Stewart plays an American celebrity fashion assistant and—shocker—personal shopper who attempts to communicate with the ghost of her recently deceased twin brother.

The film drew a mixed reception at Cannes, with Collider correspondent Talia Soghomonian singling out the creaky screenplay in her review. Nevertheless, this debut international trailer is certainly intriguing, as is the prospect of Stewart working with Assayas again, so it’s hard to deny the draw here.

Stewart has carved out a really fascinating career path following the Twilight films. She hasn’t exactly run away from blockbuster material, but she’s choosing roles that are challenging in films that are very different, and not just in a “look I can be serious too!” way. She’s a genuinely good actress, and I’m eager to follow her career as she continues to take on such varied projects.

For now, check out the Personal Shopper trailer below. The film does not yet have a U.S. release date.
